THERE ARE SO MANY VARIETIES OF FOOD SERVED IN HIMACHAL AS THERE ARE SO MANY FRESH INGREDIENTS AVAILABLE AND YOU CAN SEE THE INFLUENCE OF SO MANY DIFFERENT CULTURES IN FOOD OF HIMACHAL DUE TO ITS GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION AND ITS NEIGHBORHOOD.
Here are the famous dishes of Himachal and some dishes are of dham.

Dham - In Himachal's famous famous Dham there Is the meal served to the people, in himachali culture on the occasions of marriage, birthday party, retirement party, big functions or any religious days. Dham includes the serving freshly cooked rice with different types of daal, raita, kadhi, vegetable and sweet dish which freshly made.

  • Siddu - made of wheat flour and stuffed with different stuffing such as potato, sesame seeds, walnut etc. And served hot with ghee or chutney
  • Maa ki daal - A creamy gravy of black lentils
  • Madra - a thick yogurt based gravy made from chickpeas
  • Himachali Kachori - famous in Himachal which is freshly made with kneaded dough stuffed with black lentils flavoured with spices and then fried
  • Matar Paneer - Cottage cheese and green peas curry
  • Kaddu ka khatta - A tangy dry Pumpkin vegetable curry
  • Sepu badi - Split black "urad dal" is used to make a batter with spices such as cumin and cloves. It is steamed and then pan fried for a crispy outer layer with a soft center.
  • Momo - Made with fresh vegetables stuffed in flour and then steamed and served hot with chilli chutney in Himachal
  • Seb ka meetha - A sweet dish made up of apples, dry fruits and sugar slow cooked and served hot seasonally made with fresh apples directly from the farms
  • Salad - Served fresh vegetables available seasonal
  • Kheru - Dish made up of curd and some spices
  • Kale chane ka khatta - A tangy soup made with black chick peas
  • Bhey - A spicy Lotus Stem dish
  • Kadhi - Himachal special kadhi made with fresh curd and besan (gram flour) and spices including bundi/pakode/aalu in it
  • Babru - Kneaded dough which is flavoured and then fried usually served in breakfast
  • Bhaat - Long fragrant rice which are served with different dishes and daal
  • Channe ki daal - Yellow daal which is made slowly with spices and has a special way of traditional preparation and served with bhaat
  • Badane ka meetha - It is a sweet dish made up of small gram balls prepared in ghee and dry fruits and then sugar syrup is added which is again flavoured with spices.
  • Moong ka raita - Green lentils made with spices and mustard seeds with traditional cooking style
  • Mukund wadi curry - Sundried lentil squares cooked in onion tomato gravy
  • Baturu - It is a popular fried round bread which is famous in kullu and called by different names in different parts of Himachal
  • Mix veg - Made up of local vegetables including cauliflower, potato, peas, beans, carrots usually served with bathuru
  • Bathu ki kheer - It is a local sweetdish made of bathu with milk and jaggery in it
  • Gobhi paldha - Made up of cauliflower which is cooked in buttermilk with different spices
  • Aloo paldha - Made up of potato which is cooked in buttermilk with different spices
  • Patrodu - A local dish which is made from the leaves of Arbi with gram flour and spices which is first steamed and then panfried
  • Dhotu daal - A delicacy of Himachal where split green lentil are cooked in ghee with few spices and served hot famous dish of Bilaspur
  • Jhol - Mandi is known for this dish usually made of very few spices and buttermilk or curd
  • Channa madra - A thick yogurt based gravy made from chickpeas and different spices
  • Rajma madra - A thick yogurt based gravy made from rajma or kidney beans with different spices and dry fruits
  • Rongi madra - A thick yogurt based gravy made from rongy and cooked in a slow process with traditional technique
  • Kaddu ka meetha - A sweet dry Pumpkin vegetable sweetdish
  • Matar paneer - Locally made dish of peas and cottage cheese with local spices and traditional way
  • Raita - Curd mixed with fresh herbs, mustard seeds and fresh coriander
  • Mahni - A delicacy of Hamirpur which is made up of spices, mahni is a beautiful and lip-smacking concoction of mango powder, jaggery, and so many other flavours
  • Meethe Chawal - Flavorful sweet rice with saffron and dry fruits slow cooked with ghee
  • Baadi - Traditional local dish made up of flour which is cooked in a big cooking pot slowly by adding water and then served with ghee it can be slightly salty or sweet made of jaggery
  • Bhalle - Made with split black lentils and then grinded finally with fresh herbs and then fried and served with baturu traditionally and mix veg.
  • Chilra - Made up of flour batter on a pan can be of different types depending upon location and the ingredients
  • Lingri ki sabzi - Vegetables made up of ferns specially located in the region of Himachal and made freshly with various herbs and spices
  • Saag - Green leafy vegetables made with gram flour and fresh mustard leaves.
